Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Side Quest Master (“App”, “Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the App and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of the Service
Side Quest Master is a mobile platform that allows users to:
- Create public “quests” (user-posted tasks such as errands)
- Browse and accept quests posted
- Communicate with other users via in-app chat
- Track the status of their quests (as “Poster” or “Taker”) through stages
Users may act as either Poster or Taker depending on the quest. Side Quest Master serves solely as a neutral platform for listing and coordination, and does not supervise user actions or verify outcomes.
3. Eligibility
To use the App, you must:
- Be at least 17 years old (or older if required by your jurisdiction)
- Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- Not be prohibited from using the App under any applicable law
4. User Accounts
To access certain features, you may be required to create an account using a valid school-affiliated email address (e.g., .edu domain). This helps us maintain a trusted community of users. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and ensuring your account information is accurate.

5. User Responsibilities
You understand and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for the content of quests you post and the actions you take on the App
- You may not post unlawful, misleading, violent, abusive, or offensive content
- You must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
- You must use your best judgment when interacting with other users
- You may only use the in-app chat for legitimate coordination related to quests. Harassment, abuse, or misuse of the messaging feature may result in suspension or termination.
6. Platform Role & Disclaimers
6.1 Neutral Platform
Side Quest Master is a neutral listing platform. While we require school-affiliated email addresses to register, we do not verify the true identity of users, confirm the accuracy of listings, or supervise user conduct. We do not conduct background checks on users or verify educational affiliation beyond email domain.
We are not a party to any agreement between users. We do not guarantee the safety, legality, reliability, or completion of any posted or accepted quest.
6.2 Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Participating in or fulfilling a quest involves risk
- Side Quest Master is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, loss, fraud, or dispute that arises from user interactions
- You engage with others and fulfill quests at your own risk
7. Content Ownership & Conduct
You retain ownership of any content (text, images, listings) you submit to the App, but grant us a limited license to display, host, and share it for the purpose of operating the Service.
We reserve the right to:
- Use automated tools or manual review to monitor user content for potential violations.
- Remove or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms
- Suspend or terminate accounts for abusive behavior or illegal activity
8. Token System
8.1 Overview
Side Quest Master uses a virtual token system to facilitate quest interactions on the Platform. Tokens have no cash value, are not legal tender, and may only be used within the App as described in these Terms.
8.2 Getting and Spending Tokens
- Users (“Posters”) may assign tokens to quests they create.
- Other users (“Takers”) may get tokens by completing quests as agreed.
- Tokens may be reused to post new quests or saved up for optional in-app rewards.
8.3 Redemption and Rewards
From time to time, we may allow users to redeem tokens for non-monetary rewards (e.g., exclusive items, or physical merchandise such as branded apparel, gift cards, or other tangible goods). Availability, delivery method, and fulfillment of such rewards are at our sole discretion.
8.4 Ownership and Restrictions
Tokens are digital items controlled solely by Side Quest Master. You may not sell, trade, transfer, or exchange tokens for money or anything of value outside of the App. We may modify or discontinue the token system at any time without liability.
8.5 No Refunds or Guarantees
Tokens are non-refundable. We do not guarantee that you will get or retain tokens, or that any specific reward or redemption option will be available. Misuse of tokens or the token system may result in account suspension or token revocation.
8.6 Token Purchases
In the future, we may offer users the ability to purchase additional tokens (“Top-Ups”) through in-app payment methods or third-party platforms. All token purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by law.
You agree that tokens are a license to access digital features, not a tangible or financial asset. We may modify token pricing, availability, and functionality at any time. Purchased tokens do not accrue interest, do not constitute a deposit, and cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, or other currencies.
8.7 Payment Processing
All purchases are processed by third-party app stores or payment providers. You are responsible for complying with their terms and any fees they may charge.
8.8 Promotional Tokens
Users may receive free tokens through account creation, referrals, or other promotions. These tokens are granted at our discretion and may be subject to expiration or removal at any time. Promotional tokens cannot be exchanged for cash and may have restrictions on how they are used or redeemed.
9. Service Fees
9.1 Poster Fee
Side Quest Master charges a flat fee of $3 USD to the user who creates a quest (the “Poster”) when the quest is marked as completed. This fee is used to support platform operations, development, and community moderation. We may, at our discretion, waive or defer service fees for promotional purposes, early user programs, or other reasons.
9.2 Payment Processing
Service fees may be collected through third-party digital payment platforms (e.g., Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe), or through offline cash collection. In some cases, service fees may be collected on a recurring (e.g., monthly) basis, after the completion of one or more quests. Failure to pay may result in account suspension or loss of access to Side Quest Master. Disputes related to service fee billing or collection are subject to the dispute resolution provisions outlined in Section 17.
9.3 No Refunds
All service fees are non-refundable, including in cases of user dissatisfaction, incomplete quests, or disputes, except where required by applicable law.
9.4 Fee Changes
We reserve the right to modify the fee structure at any time. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated fee terms.
10. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Post quests involving violence, weapons, controlled substances, or illegal activities
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the App
- Use the App to harass, stalk, or harm other users
11. Intellectual Property
All content provided by Side Quest Master, including our logo, branding, app design, and features, are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without permission.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or applicable law
- Discontinue the App or any of its features at our discretion
You may stop using the App at any time.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Any user, listing, or interaction will be safe or lawful
- All quest content will be accurate or legitimate
Use of the App is at your sole risk.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Side Quest Master and its sole proprietor shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages
- Any loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Any injuries, damages, or losses arising out of quest participation or user conduct
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Side Quest Master and its sole proprietor from any claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your interactions with other users
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which the app operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
17. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution
17.1 Informal Resolution First
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution process, you agree to first contact us at Admin@sidequestmaster.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Most user concerns can be resolved quickly and to mutual satisfaction through informal communication.
17.2 Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Side Quest Master agree to resolve any claim, dispute, or controversy (excluding claims for injunctive or other equitable relief as set forth below) arising out of or in connection with these Terms through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, which are available at www.adr.org.
The arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator. The location of the arbitration will be either in the state of the app operator’s residence or conducted remotely, at the arbitrator’s discretion. Each party will be responsible for its own legal costs and arbitration fees unless the arbitrator rules otherwise.
17.3 No Class Actions
You and Side Quest Master agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
17.4 Exceptions to Arbitration
Either party may bring a claim in small claims court in the county of the app operator’s residence if the claim qualifies. Either party may also seek equitable or injunctive relief for the alleged unlawful use of intellectual property without first engaging in arbitration or informal resolution.
17.5 Governing Law
This arbitration agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) and applicable U.S. federal law.
18. Force Majeure
Side Quest Master shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, internet outages, server failures, or governmental actions.
19. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
